Guest_Mara While Eragon had been called away from his family estate on a business trip for the Emperor...Mara had remained behind...suprisingly reports had reached him that Mara had been involved with various functions around the estate...helping his mother out on a few occassions as a hostess...› Guest_Mara +q Guest_Eragon › Guest_Mara +q Guest_Keara Guest_Ryder brings Keara a cup of coffee...as they wait to hear what the medics find with her father...Keara had managed to get hold of Fayth...who was rushing back to be with her fiance...Kenzi was in the middle of exams but would return if needed...but there still hadnt been any news from Mara... Guest_Eragon sits in the back of the limo, having been reading business reports and stops when he gets the reports from home, unable to keep the look of surprise off his face as he reads as the limo heads back to the estateGuest_Mara is sitting in her mother in law's office...working on thank you notes for the Lady Weller...busy work...Guest_Keara takes the cup from him "thanks" says in a barely audible voice, just holding it, staring at the door that leads back to the ORGuest_Eragon arrives back at the estate, and walks through the house, talking on his comm unit as he walks past his mother's officeGuest_Ryder sits next to her...putting his arm around her shoulders...Guest_Mara looks up as he walks past...Guest_Keara rests her head against his shoulder "what is taking them so long? and why wont Mara answer?"Guest_Eragon ~~....I see....not going to work....~~ says and happens to glance into the office, and gives her a smileGuest_Ryder : He was non-responsive...which means he couldnt communicate with them to tell them what is wrong...so they have to figure it out without his help...it will take time...and I dont know...They probably wont let her have her commGuest_Mara sits back in the chair...still holding the old fashioned pen in her hand that his mother insisted on using when writing her thank you notes...Guest_Keara sighs deeply "they could at least come out here and give us some sort of update...."Guest_Eragon finishes his call, hanging up and goes into the office "hey"Guest_Mara : HiGuest_Keara whispers "feels longer...:Guest_Mara : She didGuest_Keara looks up at him, face tear stainedGuest_Eragon sits on the edge of the desk, "how many more cards do you have to fill out?"Guest_Ryder gently kisses her forehead...trying to comfort her as best he canGuest_Mara : a few dozen...Guest_Keara : sighs softly "Fayth should be here within an hour...and also got a hold of Aunt Ana....she said if we needed her too, she could come stay if we wanted to go homeGuest_Eragon shifts sightly, and pulls her comm unit out of his pocket and sets in on the deskGuest_Ryder I called Gibbs and told him what was happening...Guest_Mara : Your mother is planning a welcome home dinner for you tonightGuest_Mara : She is still planning oneGuest_Keara would think he would be used to us running off by now...." she tries to jokeGuest_Eragon rolls his eyes "alright....and here is your comm.."Guest_Mara looks at it...then at him...before reaching for itGuest_Keara takes a sip of the coffee, wrinkling her nose "at least we wont get into trouble for running off"Guest_Eragon stands "well better let you get back to work"Guest_Keara when she looks at her comm, Mara will see she has about a dozen missed calls from KearaGuest_Keara hands him the cup "want some?"Guest_Mara looks at her comm...seeing the messages from Keara...she reads one of the text messages...gasping as she does...Guest_Ryder takes the cup from her...taking a sip...Guest_Eragon stops at the door and turns back to her when he hears the gasp "what is it?"Guest_Keara looks over to the door when it opens and sighs when it wasnt her father's doctorGuest_Mara : Something happened to my DadGuest_Mara holds her comm out to him so he can look for himselfGuest_Eragon walks back over and takes the comm from her, reading "well...go pack a bag and we'll head down there tonight"Guest_Mara quickly heads back up to their room...quickly packing bags for both of themGuest_Ryder tenses as well when someone exits...then sits back...Guest_Keara stands and starts pacing around the waiting room, her comm unit laying on the seatGuest_Ryder watches her..."Please try to stay calm honey..."Guest_Eragon while she is packing, he goes and finds his mother, telling her what has happenedGuest_Keara looks at him, eyes tearing up again "I dont know what to do...." she whispers "when you were gone, i had something to focus on"Guest_Mara : comes rushing down the stairs...looking for him...two backpacks slung over her arm...Guest_Ryder gets up...moving over to her...taking her into his armsGuest_Eragon walks into the foyer with his mother when she comes down and Alexi goes over to her, hugging her for a moment before leaving them and Eragon holds out his hand to her "we'll go to the apartment first then head over to the medical center"Guest_Mara takes his handGuest_Keara presses close to him, her cheek resting against his chest, closing her eyes as a few tears fallGuest_Ryder rocks her gently back and forth...Guest_Eragon when she takes his hand, they blink out and blink into the apartment in Belle MeadeGuest_Mara tenses as they blink...still not something she was used to...Guest_Mara does as she is told...Guest_Eragon waits patientlyGuest_Mara moves back toward him after she puts the bags down...Guest_Eragon takes her hand and blinks them to the hospitalGuest_Mara they arrive at the hospital...Mara leads the way toward the ER...seeing Keara and Ryder in the hall..."Keara!"Guest_Ryder looks past her as Mara shows up with Eragon...he resists the urge to reach for his blaster...Guest_Keara looks over her shoulder and sees her sister, leaving Ryder's arms, going over to her, hugging her tightGuest_Eragon stays back as they get to the waiting roomGuest_Mara hugs her back..."What happened?"Guest_Keara : daddy was late getting to work, and you know he's never late....we got to the cottage....and found him.....Guest_Mara : have they said anything?Guest_Keara shakes her head "no...they've been in there for 45 minutes...."Guest_Eragon stays back, wearily watching Ryder as the girls talkGuest_Mara grits her teeth...kissing her baby sister's cheek...she quickly lets go of Keara...heading down the hall...keying in her codes to the Doctor's lounge....Guest_Ryder says as he moves over toward Eragon while the girls were talkingGuest_Keara gives Eragon a nasty look after she watches Mara disappears into the doctor's loungeGuest_Mara comes out a bit later...wearing medical scrubs...hair in a hairnet....with a mask in her hands...Guest_Mara : Soon as I know something...stay hereGuest_Mara puts on the mask and heads into the Trauma area...Guest_Keara sits in a chair, nodding, wrapping her arms around her, not paying attention to Ryder and Eragon's conversationGuest_Ryder swallows...keeping his eyes on his wife...Guest_Eragon watches Keara as wellGuest_Mara comes out a bit later...pulling off the hairnet to let her brown curls cascade over her shoulders...Guest_Keara gets up when Mara comes back "well?!" she asks anxiouslyGuest_Mara : Myocardial Infarction...Guest_Mara : a heart attack...Guest_Mara : Both our grandparents died of heart disease...so it does run in the family...Guest_Mara : it was a mild one...Guest_Keara swallows hard "how can a damn heart attack be mild?" she snaps as it starts snowing hard outsideGuest_Mara : Yes...thanks to the two of you...they got to him in time...adminsitered the medications that will bring his blood pressure under control...Guest_Mara : Keara...calm downGuest_Ryder gently takes her into his arms...Guest_Mara looks over at EragonGuest_Eragon shrugs back at her, not knowing what to do in situations like thisGuest_Keara gets pulled into his arms, crying› Guest_Keara has left the conversation. Guest_Mara : Yes...he is alert...responding to treatment...They are going to get him a room for the next few days as a percaution... |
