He was close with his younger brother and when they each gotmarried, they were both each other’s best men.

Sadly in 2001, while he was away on a business trip, hisonly son, Daniel who was 13 at the time, with him, his parents, wife,sister-in-law, brother and niece were in a fatal accident. Out of all of them,his 5 year old niece survived.

After all the legal aspects were taken care of, Joe formallyadopted his niece Lila a week after the fatal accident.

Sadly once again in late 2014, Joe is once again hit withtragedy…His darling Lila was murdered on a run near the high school.
